The Melbourne International Comedy Festival is upon us!
We've made no secret of it, it's our favourite time of year. The balmy autumn evenings, the buskers our in force, the jaunty lights of the town hall and people rushing all about the CBD with grins from ear to ear!
This year the comedy fest has taken all the work out of finding food and drinks near venues by partnering with Liven. There's a great map of fab eateries and bars that you can use to plan pre- and post show eats and tipple.
This year our list of favourites is a little quirky and improv is getting top consideration. We are so happy to welcome back to Australia Mark Watson, we first saw Mark about 10 years ago at the Edinburgh Fringe and have seen him as many times as possible over the years. Also must-sees for us are Celia Pacquola and Wil Anderson, life lessons and belly-laughs are guaranteed. We're suckers for a room full of superhero nerds, too, so the final debate of Battle of the Superheroes is in our first five bookings, we shall be attending with our Wonder Woman t-shirt on.
A few other shows that caught our eye - Dulcé Sloan, Daily Show correspondent and one half of the genius duet 'Song for Women 2017'; James Veitch returns with a mischievous new show; Kitty Flanagan will be smashing as always.
Check out all our selections from the program below and may you have many laughs this festival season!
