July 14: La Fête Nationale française; the perfect excuse for a day of immersion in French food. To commemorate Bastille Day this year the Hotel Sofitel charged their Executive Pastry Chef, David Hann, with producing Éclairs with Flair!
We began our day in Sofi's Lounge with Chef Hann's pastry magic, feeling like 24 carat gold after indulging in some divine food art. All the eclairs were delicious and we had one or two stand out favourites, namely the lemon meringue and nutella fillings, the most beautifully decorated however was the violet.
We'll certainly be on the lookout for another fine dining dessert event from Chef Hann and the Sofitel!
