Australians are renowned for a few things - a passion for sports, an abundance of natural wonders and an inability to take anything seriously. But right now, we are making an international name for ourselves for nurturing extraordinary talents of screen and stage. Amongst the flourishing Australian grass roots music scene two swanky brothers from Sydney’s Northern Beaches are showing us just how good we can be.
Louis and Oli Leimbach, better known as Lime Cordiale, are currently touring their debut album ‘Permanent Vacation’ across the country and if you’re lucky enough to be in the same city, you’d be crazy not to check them out. These boys have clearly taken the time and effort to explore every inch of their musical talents - combining aspects of rock, pop, funk and a drizzle of soul to chime out 12 groovy tracks on their spectacular debut. They flow effortlessly from light, dreamy jams like Naturally and Up in the Air to some real sing-along belters like Underground or a personal favourite, What is Growing Up? to manifest a performance that showcases their experimental creativity and clear talent for composition.
The pair’s inspired lyrical storytelling sweeps the listener along, tapping into life experiences that can be deeply empathised with. Louis and Oli’s voices wrap around the audience so effortlessly, taking everyone on the ride of their life up until now. Tracks like Risky Love tell such detailed stories in so few words and their live performance flaunts every emotion the lyrics possess.
We caught them and their equally as eccentric support act ‘Goldmember’ tearing the roof off the Northcote Social Club last Saturday and it’s clear how excited they are to be sharing their new creation. These kooky brothers and their extremely talented band’s passion for their craft is projected into a larger than life presence on stage that you can’t help but be caught up in.
Fresh off 2 sold out shows in Melbourne; be sure to catch their explosive sounds at one of their remaining shows and throw some support behind some of the freshest Aussie music talent going around.
